Long live ballad!

I listen to any kind of music, but most of them are Indie bands or singers. Instead of Indie, I listen of ballad too. Probably some of you thinks that ballad means 'lagu galau dan menye-menye' and probably like 98% of teenagers these days start crying when they heard ballad song. I mostly don't cry when I listen to ballad, but some of these ballad are superduper awesome that I can cry for straight 3 days after I listened to them. *lebay*

I still get confused to tell the difference between ballad itself and sad song. So, here's the explanation:

bal·lad
ˈbaləd/
noun
noun: ballad; plural noun: ballads
  1. 1.
a poem or song narrating a story in short stanzas. Traditional ballads are typically of unknown authorship, having been passed on orally from one generation to the next as part of the folk culture.
    • a slow sentimental or romantic song.

But some of these songs I'm going to post are the best ballad I've ever heard so far (if all of them can considered as ballad).

10. The Naked and Famous - Young Blood (Renholdër Remix)

I know this song from Arya Stark x Gendry fanvideo (man, I SHIP THEM SO MUCH IT HURTS). Anyway, the original one sounds super techno-slash-electro so I prefer this version. Great remix, anyway.

9. Ellie Goulding - How Long Will I love You

"How long will I love you?
As long as stars are above you."

That explains everything about this song.

8. Birdy - 1901

I love both version. This one and the original one that Phoenix sang. You should listen to both versions.

7. Imogen Heap - Just for Now

I already know this song since I was in 5th grade, and I'm in love with Imogen Heap afterward. I don't know why but everytime I listen to this song, it gave me sort of weird feelings (instead of sad) but in a good way, of course. The beginning of this song makes me feeling suuuper weird, I mean, really weird. You should listen to this song too and tell me if you feeling weird after you listen to this song.

6. Regina Spektor - Samson

It's Regina Spektor, hands down, queen of ballad.

5. Bat for Lashes - Lilies

This is on the top 5 of my ballads 'charts' because this song always makes me nearly cried. The way she said 'Thank God, I'm alive' gave me chill. This song is magnificent.

4. Emmy Rossum - Lullaby

This song makes me want to bury my face in a pillow and cry for hours. That's all.

3. Kate Nash - Nicest Thing

This song just simply remind me of SasuSaku. Yes. That damned pairing. Anyway, this song is just so... me. The song is represent the words I can't say to my crush. (sounds exaggerated, I know, but that's the fact).

2. Ellie Goulding - Dead in the Water

This song is just so damn magnificent and beautiful and sad and so on. Please listen to this song using your headphone in full volume and in a dark room. You will feel the glory in this song.

1. Birdy - I'll Never Forget You

MAAAAAN, I COULD CRY LIKE 136452846 LITERS OF TEARS EVERYTIME I LISTEN TO THIS SONG FOR A WEEK STRAIGHT. The song is about the pain of asking your friend for money (and loaning money to a friend) and I don't know why this song always made me sad. It just heartbreakingly and breathtakingly beautiful. I listen to this song like every single morning and every night before I go to sleep. This song gave me a nostalgia feelings so much. I'm not afraid to say that I love this version like a hundreds time more than the original one (Francis and the Lights version, but you should check his version too). I recommend you to listen to this song at dawn and midnight, while you're on your bed. I should stop now because I feel like I could wrote 5 pages of essay about how much I love  this song.

So that's all, if I have another time, I will post about my other favorite songs. Please don't blame me if your live starts become miserable after listening to all the song above, okay?
